ASA Savings and Loans, a leading financial institution in Ghana, has reaffirmed its commitment to education by providing substantial support to over one hundred brilliant yet financially challenged students across various Greater Accra and Central Regions communities.
Each beneficiary, a brilliant yet financially challenged student, received a GH¢1,000 cheque, a significant relief to their families’ educational burdens.
The initiative, which spans communities such as Kasoa, Ofaakor, Mallam, Weija, Somanya, Dodowa, Adenta, and several others, including Nima, Newtown, and La, underscores ASA’s unwavering dedication to corporate social responsibility.
Madam Beatrice Baiden, Area Manager of Kasoa, highlighted the initiative’s significance during a presentation ceremony, emphasizing ASA’s steadfast commitment to nurturing responsible citizens through educational empowerment.
“This initiative is a vital part of our year-round efforts to ease the financial strain on parents providing for their children’s education,” Madam Baiden remarked, echoing ASA’s dedication to community development.
Richard Nartey, CSR/Sustainability Manager, reiterated ASA’s broader poverty reduction mission, which aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 1 (SDG-1).
He emphasized the careful selection of students for the award, which was based on academic performance, financial need, and community involvement, aiming to motivate academic excellence among the youth.
Joyce Alikor Simon, a beneficiary and parent, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of all recipients. She shared how the financial support from ASA has significantly reduced the burden on their family, allowing them to focus more on their children’s education. This initiative has truly made a positive impact on shaping their children’s future.
