The new Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Mr. Moses Asaga has pledged to transform the NPA as a ?respected and a tough regulator? to its mandatory standards.

He mention that his goal was to make the NPA a non biased and credible modernized institution.

wpid-moses-asaga1.jpgAccording to him, as a regular, he believe that the NPA must be non biased, and very credible so that it can command respect to its activities.

He also explained further that, he never knew that one day he would be appointed as CEO of NPA and vow to work hand in hand with the management and staff with hard work to further improve the fortunes of the Authority.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the weekly observer in Accra, Mr. Asaga hinted that when he used to be the chairman of the Parliamentary select committee on mines and Energy, oil and gas, he and his team drafted the NPA outline and the legislative instrument and then he was in-charge of making sure that it go by the clause.

He implored all the management and staff to herald together as a one family and work hard to promote the growth and sustainability of the Authority.

Mr. Asaga commended his predecessor, Mr. Alex Mould for an excellent performance and leadership role he deploy which had placed the NPA in an enviable position during his term as CEO of NPA.

Let me say that Mr. Mould has been a very brilliant person for been CEO of NPA,I have seen that the structure that he has put in place and especially the caliber of people that he has recruited will need to receive a high commendation with applaused.

The training and the exemplary life that he has inculcated in the management and staff has made the institution what it is today?, he lamented.

Prior to his appointment to the current position, Mr. moses was the chairman of the technical committee on the public utility regulatory commission.

Mr.Asaga had been a former member of parliament for Nabdam constituency in the upper east region from 1996 to 2012.

He holds MSC in Petroleum Engineering from the university of Aberdeen and an MBA from Yonsei university of south korea.
