The Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) Executive Director has raised concerns regarding transferring Ewe Immigration Service personnel from the Volta Region.

In a recent social media post, he criticized the decision, alleging that the transfers target locations such as Aflao, Kulungugu, and Paga, perceived as strongholds of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He questioned the rationale behind the transfers, particularly given that the officers had recently registered as special voters.

The ASEPA Director expressed scepticism about the provisions being made to ensure these officers are not disenfranchised due to their relocation.

There are massive transfers happening currently in the Ghana Immigration Service.

Most of the Ewe Officers at the Aflao border are being transferred out of the place and being replaced by only Akan Officers.

The targeted places are Aflao, Kulungugu,Paga and other locations purporting to be strongholds of the NDC.

Now the other chaotic thing about these incessant and needless transfers is that most of these officers have already been enrolled on the special voting list in their respective stations.

Why wasn’t these transfers done before the special voting if indeed it was in good faith?

What provisions is the Service going to make for an officer who has been registered on Special Voting List in Aflao who has now been transferred to Kulungu or Brekum?

What is the motivation behind these mass transfers barely two months to the December 7 elections?
