Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah has forecasted a landmark victory for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming presidential elections.
Osei-Mensah stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is on the brink of making history. He is set to become the first presidential candidate to win on his initial attempt and achieve the highest vote margins ever recorded in Ghanaian electoral history.
On Friday, August 23, during the handover of over 400 road construction equipment under the government’s District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), Osei-Mensah emphasized that Bawumia’s presidency would also mark a historic first as Ghana’s first Muslim president.
He suggested this would symbolize a new era of unity between Christians and Muslims in Ghana.
“Dr. Bawumia is a record breaker and will break multiple records. He will be the first flagbearer to win on his first attempt and secure the highest vote margins.
His presidency will also represent a historic first as a Muslim leader, showcasing the unity between our diverse communities,” Osei-Mensah remarked.
In his address, Osei-Mensah also addressed concerns regarding the potential misuse of the newly received road construction equipment.
He cautioned that any government appointees found using the equipment for illegal activities, such as illegal mining, would face severe sanctions.
The equipment is intended to address significant road infrastructure challenges in the region, demonstrating the government’s dedication to improving the country’s infrastructure.
