CEO of Ghana League champions AshantiGold SC, Kudjo Fianoo has disclosed that his side will be playing an international friendly with an unknown Ivorian club ahead of the CAF Champions League clash with MO Bajaia.

But for the recent FirsTrust G6 tournament, the delay to the start of the Ghana Premier League has virtually rendered clubs dormant including AshantiGold and Medeama SC.

These two clubs shall be Ghana’s representatives in CAF club competions and a lot is expected of them.

Though ‘The Miners’ have played a series of trial matches, connoisseurs of the game are of the view that the reigning Ghana Premier League champions should test their strength against other clubs on the continent as they believed it will be a good platform for the team in their preparations towards their upcoming clash against Bajaia.

And the CEO of the Obuasi-based side has disclosed that they will soon be playing an unknown Ivorian side.

“We planned going to countries like Egypt, Morocco and Libya because of the opponent we will be facing but we couldn’t because of financial issues. But we will be contacting our ex-player Ibrahim Kone to arrange a friendly game for us in Ivory Coast so that we will go there and test our strength.

We are still on course preparing for next month’s clash,” Fianoo assured
