Chief Executive Officer of AshantiGold Sporting Club, Emmanuel Frimpong have confirmed that the continental club campaigners are in talks with their two key midfielders – Latif Anabila and James Akaminko.
The soccer miners and Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in the upcoming CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup and as such would need to bolster their squad ahead of the arduous task ahead.
“We have new players coming on board, with Latif, James Akaminko and the likes. We are trying to renew their contracts. Talks are still ongoing,” Emmanuel Frimpong told Oyerepa FM.
Interestingly, Latif Anabila whose contract has ended is being tracked by the technical handlers of the Porcupine Warriors, but AshantiGold are reluctant to let him leave Obuasi to the Garden City.
In their attempt to beef up their squad, the Obuasi-based AshantiGold have already secured the services Nathaniel Asamoah and Nana Poku.
