Mr. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, Minister of Youth and Sports, has said the new International Boxing Federation (IBF) Lightweight champion, Richard Commey will remain an inspiration to the budding talents in the country, if he continues with his unrelenting ambitions.

Commey, stopped his Russian opponent Isa Chaniev in the second round of their IBF world title fight over the weekend, to join the list of Ghanaian world title boxers, like Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey, Isaac Dogboe and many more.

Mr. Asiamah made this known in a statement on behalf of Government to congratulate Richard Commey for winning the new IBF Lightweight title.

In the statement signed by Miss Gift Eghan, Deputy Public Relations Officer, Mr. Asiamah said Commey’s unrelenting ambition enroute to becoming a world champion makes him more deserving of his title, which makes Ghana and Ghanaians proud of him.

It said by this feat, the youth and sports minister was convinced that Richard Commey could go even further and cement his status as the best around and most importantly, to be like his predecessors.
