Mary Sika Dove in a handshake with COP John Kudolor
The Director General of the Ghana Police, COP John Kudolor, has made an appeal to corporate organisations to assist in increasing police visibility and accessibility in the country.
He indicated that the current new system where policemen have been deployed to vantage points within Accra had been of immense help to the communities they were located. He said this new trend which is expected to be replicated nationwide would help ensure safety and protection of human lives and properties.
?This strategic approach which provides shortest distance to assist residents has helped reduce crime rates within certain communities. The awareness of police presence alone ensures some level of protection,? noted COP Kudolor.
He made this known when Millennium Insurance Company presented canopies to assist the police in their visibility initiatives. The canopies which were mounted at Fiesta Royal traffic light, Kawukudi traffic light, Adenta old barrier, Achimota Old barrier and Adjirigano were to provide shades for the deployed officers to those locations.
General Manager of Millennium Insurance, Mrs Mary Sika Dove said her outfit was ready to deepen the Visibility and Community Policing Unit of Ghana Police Service to carry out its mandate of ensuring law and order in the country.
?With a sense of security, individuals can go about doing their business. We intend to partner Ghana Police in that regard and help combat crime. We consider this as a priority with respect to our corporate social responsibility,? she stated.
