Ghana forward Jordan Ayew will lead the attacking lines for Aston Villa as they seek to string together another win against an astonishing Leicester City side.
Ayew, 24, is Villa’s leading scorer with 5 goals from 16 league games and received standing ovation from fans at the Villa Park in midweek for his bravery.
Villa ended their 248 day winless run with an unlikely 1-0 triumph over Crystal Palace in midweek while Leicester City continue to cruise – they stunned Tottenham Hotspur with a late winner in their last game.
Remi Garde – the Villa manager said in the pre-match briefing: “The win for Leicester against Villa earlier this season was a very important win for them. To beat them this weekend would be a big boost for us.
“The victory over Palace gave us more confidence. The players know the level they can play at. Hopefully we can do this from now until the end of the season.”
While Ayew is a sure starter for Villa, his international team-mate Jeffrey Schlupp is nursing an injury and will have to watch the game from the screen.
Aston Villa have won only four of their 19 Premier League games against Leicester, but three of those victories have come in the last four meetings at Villa Park.
KEYNOTE: Versatile Ghana defender Daniel Amartey could be in the United Kingdom and feel the atmosphere ahead of his move to Leicester City.
