dpa/GNA – AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine can cause an allergic reaction in very rare cases, the EU’s drugs regulator, the European Medicines Agency (EMA), said on Friday in Amsterdam.

In Britain, 41 out of about 5 million people had an allergic reaction after receiving the shot by the British-Swedish pharmaceutical company. “In at least some of these cases,” there was likely a link to the vaccine, the EMA said.

Possible allergic reactions had already been mentioned as a potential risk. The EMA has now recommended updating information to include allergic reactions as a possible side effect. It already recommends that people wait 15 minutes under observation after getting the jab.
