At least seven people died and another four were injured in a multi-vehicle accident on a highway in the Ecuadorian province of Los Rios, the Integrated Security Service ECU 911 reported Thursday.
The accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday at kilometer 52 on the Buena Fe-Patricia Pilar highway, where a passenger bus, a tractor-trailer and a truck collided, the rescue agency said in a release.
As a result of the strong impact, two of the vehicles burst into flames.
The four injured people were treated at the scene, and then three of them were transferred to different hospitals, the ECU 911 said.
