The Bangladeshi government will relocate its nationals to the neighboring countries from Libya if Libya’s security situation worsens further, a leading local newspaper reported Wednesday.
The Daily Star quoted an official as saying, “Libya is going through a turmoil situation since there is internal fighting among different groups. So, we are observing the whole situation. In emergency cases, we will relocate our people to the neighboring countries like Tunisia.”
Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain advised Bangladeshi migrants to avoid conflict zones and take mental preparation for any emergency.
At least two Bangladeshi nationals were among the nine foreign workers who were abducted from Al-Ghani Oilfield in the southern Libyan city of Sirte on Friday. Enditem
