Barclays Bank, Koforidua branch marked its 100 years in Ghana with its numerous clients who came to the bank to perform transactions and feted them with cake and champagne.
The Bank as part of the 100 years anniversary which coincided with the National chocolate/valentine’s day, also honoured its oldest customer who was assisted by officials of the bank to cut the anniversary cake at the banking hall.
The Koforidua branch manager of Barclays, Mr Michael Ahele said the Koforidua branch was one of the three pioneer branches including Kumasi and the Accra High street, that were opened on February 14,1917 when Barclays set foot in the then Gold Coast to engage in banking business.
He said the vision to become the best bank in the then Gold Coast, by making lives much easier for its Customers, employees and shareholders had been valued through its establishment in the 20th century through to this present age.
“Today we pride ourselves with 56 branches scattered through the length and breadth of the country, 160 ATM machines across the country, 10 Prestige centres, two Premier suites and three agencies.
We are the first bank to network our branches and the first to introduce ATM cards, that accepts deposits and accept Union Pay cards which is offering an unparalleled convenience for global card holders and our own customers”.
The branch manager noted that Barclay’s successful milestone in 100 years had been achieved with the loyal support of all its clients and valued customers and assured that the Koforidua branch would continue with its value of excellent customer care to sustain the gains made so far.
Some of the clients who had been with the Koforidua branch for many years, told GNA, in an interview that they had not switched to other banks because of the exceptional customer care and services they received from the Bank.
