Flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has asserted that he can confidently claim responsibility for 33 policy initiatives during his tenure as Vice President of Ghana.
In a recent address, Dr. Bawumia expressed his belief that leadership should be about solving the nation’s problems, emphasizing that those in public office must be proactive and innovative.
Dr. Bawumia contrasted his track record with that of his political opponent, whom he criticized for lacking any substantial policy contributions.
“You cannot just be eating and going to sleep every day. You must think of something. We have put you into public office to solve problems,” he remarked.
He stressed that leadership is not just about holding a title, but about taking action to address the challenges facing the country.
“I can talk about 33 different policies that I have championed, but my opponent cannot point to even one,” Dr. Bawumia added, suggesting that his opponent’s inability to offer policy solutions raises serious questions about their capability to lead.
Dr. Bawumia’s comments come at a time when political tensions are high, with candidates and their supporters vying to prove their competence ahead of upcoming elections.
His challenge underscores the importance of policy development and implementation in the political arena, as well as the need for leaders who are committed to addressing the pressing issues facing Ghana.
