Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, has responded sharply to former President John Dramani Mahama’s criticisms of the current administration’s economic management, reiterating the party’s strong stance on this issue and aiming to reassure and instil confidence in the audience.
During a press conference in Accra on Sunday, Dr Bawumia urged Mahama to reflect on his economic record while making such criticisms.
Dr. Bawumia expressed astonishment at Mahama’s comments on economic mismanagement, stating, “Sometimes I get amazed when former President Mahama talks about economic mismanagement. He should know his record.”
The NPP candidate emphasized that Ghana requires an “upgrade” rather than a “reset” of its economic policies, inspiring and motivating the audience with the party’s vision for the country’s economic future.
He reiterated his unwavering commitment to implementing the measures detailed in the recently launched NPP manifesto to rejuvenate the economy, stating, “If given the mandate, I will diligently roll out the measures outlined in our recently launched manifesto to revamp the economy.”
