Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has affirmed that the selection of Energy Minister Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, as the running mate for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections, was grounded in extensive experience.
Dr Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana, revealed his choice of a running mate during Monday’s consultations with top NPP officials, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin.
Speaking to Selorm Adonoo on Eyewitness News on Citi FM, Nana B emphasized that NAPOBawumia’s initial tenure informed Dr NAPO’sa’s decision as a running mate and Vice President.
“His Ex,” fluently, is the vice president making this decision with vast experience. Why do I say so? In 2008, he was the running mate; in 2012, he was the running mate; in 2016, he was the running mate, and we won; in the 2020 elections, he was again.
The President’s Excellency nominated him again to be his running mate. So he’s eyesight years or more running mate and eight years vice president,” Nana” elaborated.
He further underscored that Dr. BawumiaBawumia’s appointment was bolstered by extensive consultations and compelling reasons, underscoring NAPO’s ability to complement Dr. BawumiaBawumia’s appointment effectively.
Nana B concluded by highlighting the comprehensive nature of Dr Bawumia Bawumia’s son-making process, which positioned NAPO as a fitting running mate candidate.
