Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has strongly condemned attacks on journalists by political party supporters, asserting that such actions undermine democratic principles.
During a media encounter in Accra on August 24, Dr Bawumia stated, “I don’t think anyone should attack a press member for doing their job.
That will undermine democracy.”
His comments come in response to recent concerns raised by the Ghana Journalists Association regarding the mistreatment of journalists.
The Association has recently blocked MPs Farouk Aliu Mahama of Yendi and Hawa Koomson of Awutu Senya East concerning these issues.
