Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, also the presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the national road network.
He has promised that the Sunyani-Wa highway will be completed before the 2024 elections.
During a regional tour titled “Bold Solutions,” Bawumia addressed party supporters in Tuna, Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency. He emphasized the positive impact of asphalting the Sunyani to Wa route on regional transportation, assuring the crowd that the government is dedicated to this initiative.
Bawumia highlighted the NPP’s accomplishments and plans, including agricultural support initiatives to enhance food security. These plans involve providing tractors, establishing mechanization centres, and offering accessible loans to farmers.
Additionally, Bawumia outlined plans to improve digital access across Ghana by making smartphones affordable and accessible through innovative financing schemes in collaboration with mobile phone companies.
In campaigning for a shift in voting patterns in the historically opposition-aligned Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency, Bawumia urged constituents to support the NPP for continued development. He cited achievements such as Free Senior High School, the Ghana Card, reinstated teacher and nursing training allowances, and the National Health Insurance Scheme. Bawumia’s campaign will continue with upcoming visits to the Upper West Region as he seeks to garner support for the 2024 elections.
