Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of Ghana and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will lead the “Mega Ofie Walk” in Akuapem North Constituency to energize party supporters and mobilize for the upcoming elections.
The walk, organized to break the traditional eight-year electoral cycle, aims to rally over 5,000 participants. Spearheaded by Sammy Awuku, parliamentary candidate for Akuapem North and Director General of the National Lottery Authority, the 6-kilometer event will commence at Mamfe and culminate at Mampong Coronation Park.
It will also mark the official launch of Awuku’s campaign, highlighting NPP strategies for gaining a competitive edge over the NDC in the constituency.
Key NPP figures, including Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Justin Frimpong Kodua, Henry Nana Boakye, Eric Nana Agyemang Prempeh, Kwabena Agyepong, Nana Akomea, and Anthony Karbo, as well as all Regional Chairmen and Constituency executives from the Eastern Region, will join Dr. Bawumia at the event.
The rally will feature performances by popular musicians Guru, Edem, Praye, and Andy Dosty. Asamoah Gyan, former Black Stars captain, will also make a special appearance.
Dr. Bawumia is expected to address attendees, emphasizing the NPP’s achievements and the importance of continuing their governance. The “Mega Ofie Walk” aims to galvanize voter support before the upcoming elections.
