Pastor Samuel Earl, Assistant Pastor at Action Chapel International, Tamale, has encouraged Christians to tirelessly work on themselves to beat out social media addiction and avoid being redirected from God.
He urged them to put God before everything and endeavour to pray first in the morning, and before making any attempt to visit social media platforms.
He was preaching the sermon during church service at the weekend in Tamale titled: “Understanding How God Leads.”
Pastor Earl said choosing other things over God and His word amounted to not following His lead.
He said it was needful for Christians to allow God to handle the affairs of their lives to be saved from affliction, saying
“God puts people ahead of troubles, for He has not given you the spirit of fear but of boldness and sound mind.”
He cautioned the congregation to be mindful of the words in Proverbs Chapter 14:12, to choose the right path to tread when their status changed from good to better in life.
He said: “If you enjoy your current status with complacency to disregard God, remember the Bible says there is a path before each man that seems right, but it ends in death.”
He further urged Christians to live by the words of God and heed to His voice stating that “God still speaks presently through His word and His voice is a spirit behind His word.”
