Benin’s ministry of health said 102 new confirmed COVID-19 cases had been recorded on Thursday in the country in a statement on Friday.
Following the newly recorded cases, the West African country’s total cases reached 242, of which 178 patients were under treatment and 62 had recovered as of Thursday.
Two deaths were reported.
“The government would like to ensure the populations that the substantial increase in confirmed cases resulted from the mass screening conducted initially on some targeted social groups, especially teachers and health sector agents,” the statement read. Enditem
