Berekum Arsenal Shocked By Coach’s Exit

John Eshun quit his post as Berekum Chelsea on Monday

Premier League campaigners Berekum Arsenal have expressed shock at the resignation of head coach John Eshun.

The future of the ex-Ghana captain had been hugely speculated after he fell out with the fans following their downward spiral in the top-flight.

Eshun, 65, was physically prevented from sitting on the team’s bench during their Premier League clash against city rival Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park two weeks ago.

Arsenal managed a 1-0 win over their rivals.

The ex-Ebusua Dwarfs Technical Director has opted to quit the Gunners with twelve matches left.

“This news is very shocking to us and I in particular because I have been with him and he never indicated to me he was going to resign,” the club’s General Secretary Douglas Effah said.

”I even doubt if he has indeed resigned because he has never given us any letter to that effect.

”We were hoping to put what happened during the encounter against Chelsea behind us and was determined to make things right for the club.

”I will need to speak to him to ascertain the veracity of the story because seriously I am very surprised.”

The experienced tactician took charge of the Gunners in December last year and had gone eight matches without a win.

He played in two Nations Cup finals in 1968 and 1970 and also played at the 1968 and 1972 summer Olympics.
