Berock Ventures Limited, a leading indigenous construction company, won four awards including the Construction Company of the Year at the recent Ghana Construction Awards.
Mr Rockson Kwesi Dogbegah, the Executive Chairman and Founder of the company, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for starting and growing the company as well as being a strong advocate for the industry.
The Ghana Construction Awards, organised by Instinct Wave, a marketing and solutions firm, is to celebrate the success of the industry and to challenge contractors to aspire to greater heights.
Mr Courage Dogbegah the Chief Executive Officer of the company, was adjudged the Construction CEO of the Year and the company was also nominated in three other categories.
Commenting on the awards, Mr Rockson Dogbegah, who is also the Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Building in Africa, recounted the difficult beginnings and said it was determination to succeed that had brought the company this far.
He said the performance of various indigenous construction companies showed that there was enough expertise in the local market to take on the country’s infrastructure projects.
He, therefore, urged both government and private sector to entrust more projects into the hands of Ghanaian players.
Berock Ventures, which has been undertaking major projects in the country including the first national ICT Park, the Upper East Regional Hospital, the Civil Aviation Training Centre, among others, also won awards at the Ghana Property Awards held earlier in November.
The Ghana Institute of Construction at a separate event held recently recognized Mr Rockson Dogbegah and others for contributing to the growth of the industry.
