Social Mp Donation

Dr Augustine Tawiaah, Member of Parliament for Bia West in the Western North Region, has presented sanitary kits to the Bia West Health Directorate in support of the fight against COVID-19 in the area which share boundaries with neighboring Cote d’voire.

The items include 45 Veronica buckets, 50 plastic bowls, 200 bottles of liquid soap, 22 gun thermometers and dozens of tissue paper.

Dr Tawiaah also presented a cheque for GHc195, 000 from his share of the National Health Insurance Fund to the health directorate to augment their efforts in the fight against COVID-19 and other infrastructural development in the health sector.

Presenting the items, the MP commended the health directorate for educating residents on the disease and asked them to continue with their public education.

He also advised Ghanaians to follow all the laid down measures to help stop the spread of the pandemic which include regular exercise, observing social distancing, avoiding over crowded places and regular washing of hands with soap under running water as well as maintaining proper personal hygiene.

Dr Augustine Tawiah further asked the residents to support the security agencies to ensure that non Ghanains do not come to the area through unapproved routes.

Dr Francis Amissah, Bia West District Director of Health who received the items on behalf of the health directorate thanked the MP for the gesture and promised to distribute them to all the appropriate institutions in the area.

He advised the general public to also donate towards the support of the fight against COVID-19.
