Mr Alfred Amoah, the Municipal Chief Executive for Bibiani – Anhwiaso – Bekwai Municipal Assembly, has called on assembly members in the municipality to be vigilant and report any security threat to the appropriate authorities.
Speaking at the 6th and last session of the Assembly, he said with the exception of Bekwai, which was engulfed in protracted chieftaincy disputes, the security situation in the municipality was generally stable.
He appealed to the Assembly members to be vigilant and report any emerging situation in their electoral areas that could have the potential of marring the peace of the area.
The MCE said the Assembly made inroads in education and agriculture during the period under review, where 89 needy but brilliant students were awarded scholarship to the tune of GH? 107,278.00.
He said the Assembly also took delivery of assorted agricultural equipment adding that this would boost food production and improve living conditions of the people in the area.
Dr Robert Aidoo, the Presiding Member (PM), commended the management and staff of the Assembly, Heads of Departments, assembly members and all key stakeholders, for their immense contributions to the growth and development of the municipality.
“In all fairness, let us continue to work for a better municipal assembly and Ghana as a whole, because the whole process of nation building starts from this level,” he added.
