50 tricycle operators in Bibiani were assisted by the Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency, Hon Alfred Obeng-Boateng, to obtain licenses for operations.
DVLA and Ghana Health Service officials examined the operators and took them through a series of tests to ascertain their capabilities for license ‘A’. All applicants were cleared to process their licenses.
This MP intervention will likely reduce the simmering feud between tricycle operators and the MTTD agency of the Ghana Police Service.
The operators expressed appreciation to the MP for covering the entire cost of the licenses thereby promising to operate within the remit of traffic regulations by ensuring road safety.
The exercise is expected to be replicated in Subiri Nkwanta and Bekwai respectively for 100 operators in the coming weeks. The entire project is estimated to cost GHS120,000.00.
