Bibiniba Foundation, a Non -Governmental Organization (NGO) has empowered more than 165 youth with life skills training in Budumburam, a suburb of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya Municipality.
The training formed part of the NGOs quest to contribute to the reduction of the unemployment rate and its effects on the youth in the Central Region such as armed robbery, teenage pregnancy and among others.
Beneficiary Participants drawn from various communities within the Municipality were trained on fresh yoghurt preparation, beads making, liquid soap making and installation of satellite dish.
Mr. Benjamin Essien-Davis, the Founder of Bibiniba Foundation in an interview with the Ghana News Agency(GNA) said the intention life skills training was to equip the participants with a source of living to enable them contribute their quota towards national development.
He said as a Foundation, there was the need to extend their tentacles to areas due to the prevalence of criminal reportage from this area to help bring the menace to its barest minimum.
“ In effect, this is to go a long way to keep the participants from any unlawful activities” he added
Mr. Essien-Davis stated that the Foundations vision was echoed on their motto, “Raising Generals” which aims at empowering the younger generation through providing educational needs of the basic education students as well as providing training and entrepreneurial skills to the youth.
The vision he mentioned was anchored on their mission that seeks to facilitate the development and progressive growth of the younger generation in our communities.
Mr. Essien-Davis advised the participants to take advantage of the training, start a living to enhance the improvement of their lives and families.
The participants in an interview expressed gratitude to the Foundation for such great initiative and pledged to put the skill to use.
“We are glad to the Bibiniba Foundation for the gesture and we promise to not disappoint them”.
