?Oh praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him all ye people for his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise ye the Lord? (Psalm 117:1-2 KJV)
The phrase ?merciful kindness? here implies that there is a merciless kindness; a kindness that has no mercy attached to it. This type of kindness is not powered by mercy. It is powered by something else, like psychological force, guilty conscience, shame, image laundering, etc.
When you offer someone or people, gifts that you cannot be happy to receive, you are displaying merciless kindness. When you offer gifts to God or your spouse grudgingly, it is merciless kindness.
When you marry someone for the only reason that you are pregnant for him or because the lady is pregnant for you, that gesture of marrying the person could become merciless kindness when you start beating the person or get beaten by the person on a regular basis. You know you don?t truly love someone but you marry the person for some insignificant reasons like financial status, compensation, business reasons, etc. That is showing kindness to someone without having mercy on yourself to consider your future and the dangers of what you are doing.
When you see and treat your wife like any of your other properties such as furniture, car, etc, you have been kind enough to marry her but you are merciless.
Perhaps you have already made a mistake off marrying the wrong person because you did not carry God along in the process of making the choice, your situation can be adjusted to favour you. You have to first, accept the truth about the situation??and the truth of the Lord endureth forever.?
Now, what is the truth? Jesus said:??I am the way, the truth and the life? (John 14:6). Tell yourself the truth: ?I have made a mistake.? You cannot think of divorce or separation because you will increase God?s anger against you when you do that.??But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery? (Matthew?5:32?NIV).
What you should do is to genuinely accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour. When his spirit takes over you, he begins to perfect the imperfections in your relationship if you cooperate with him. He orders your steps as things begin to adjust for your good. Yes! Only Jesus can save you. You are coming out of that unpleasant situation in your marriage in Jesus name! Amen.
