Black Stars winger Joseph Paintsil was notably absent from the squad that departed Ghana for Morocco.
The Los Angeles Galaxy forward remained in Accra due to ongoing passport issues, which prevented his participation in the team’s upcoming match against Niger.
A team statement confirmed that Paintsil did not go with the 23 players who travelled.
The statement explained, “Joseph Paintsil was unable to join the squad due to passport issues.
He is actively working to resolve these matters before returning to the United States to rejoin his club.
As a result, Paintsil’s absence will be keenly felt in Ghana’s crucial encounter against Niger on September 9, 2024.
