Workers at the Ghana Gas Company are rallying behind their Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Ben Asante, in a tense standoff with board chairman Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
This conflict stems from allegations that Agyapong is advocating for a multimillion-dollar deal, which has sparked concerns among employees and some board members about potential future criminal implications.
Reports indicate that the dispute has escalated into a significant boardroom clash over a contract valued at nearly $900 million.
Eyewitnesses at a recent board meeting recounted a near physical altercation between Dr. Asante and Agyapong on Wednesday.
According to sources, the Assin Central MP’s anger boiled over during the meeting, leading him to slam his hands on the board table and hurl insults at the CEO, including allegedly, calling him “stupid” and using other unprintable words.
