The Asante-Akyem Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has pledged massive infrastructure development at the Bompata Senior High School (SHS).
Reverend Kwaku Twum-Barimah, Chairman of the Presbytery, said the church would do everything possible to expand the structures and transform the place into a centre of excellence.
The vision is to make it the preferred school of choice for junior high school (JHS) leavers.
Rev Twum-Barimah said they would work with the board of governors, chiefs, teaching staff and students to make this happen.
He was speaking at an induction service held by the church for the new Headmistress of the SHS, Madam Philomena Akyaa-Brobbey, at Bompata in the Asante-Akim South District.
In attendance were members of her family, colleague school heads, teachers and students.
Rev Twum-Barimah said helping to give quality education to the youth was a core mission of the Presbyterian Church, and that they would go to every length to live up to that.
He urged the headmistress to work hard to ensure effective supervision and discipline in the school.
Madam Akyaa-Brobbey promised to do all she could to improve academic performance and called for support, understanding and cooperation of the board, staff and students.
