The Bono Regional Campaign team, which supported Hon. Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer race, has announced their return to the party.
The team has promised to work diligently to ensure the victory of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh (Dr Napo) in the 2024 general elections.
At a press conference to announce their return, the team leader, who also served as the Bono Regional leader for the Youth Caucus for Alan, clarified their stance. He stated that their support for Alan Kyerematen was solely during his time as a member of the NPP and his bid for the flagbearership. However, following Kyerematen’s departure from the party to form his movement, the team has decided not to join or support him in his new endeavour.
Instead, they have reaffirmed their commitment to the NPP and its chosen flag bearer.
Mr. Jeffrey Kwateng Brobbey, the group leader, emphasized that since Kyerematen’s departure, the team members have yet to join his new movement or campaign for him. “Our loyalty remains with the NPP, and we are dedicated to supporting the party and its leadership to secure a win in the upcoming elections,” Brobbey stated.
The group also called other party members who may feel disillusioned or disgruntled, urging them to reignite their enthusiasm for the party.
They highlighted the NPP’s favourable prospects in the upcoming elections and stressed the importance of unity and collective effort.
Additionally, the team reached out to supporters of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, another NPP figure, encouraging them to rise above any grievances and rally behind the party.
“All members must come together and support our leaders to achieve victory in the 2024 general elections,” Brobbey added.
The return of the Bono Regional Campaign team signifies a significant boost for the NPP as they gear up for the elections. With renewed support and a united front, the party is optimistic about its chances to secure a third consecutive term in office.
