The Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) in Botswana has formulated a five-year strategic plan that it hopes would enhance the performance of small, medium- and micro-sized enterprises in the country.
When launching the strategy on Thursday, in Gaborone, the capital of Botswana, the LEA management team pledged to rebuild confidence among Batswana.
Botswana is dealing with such challenges as high import bill and unemployment.
With the five-year strategy, LEA hopes to assist as many aspiring small scale businesses as possible in order to create jobs.
About 92 companies assisted by the LEA are said to be operating on their own now and the LEA hopes to graduate at least a thousand companies by the year 2023. Enditem
