Botswana is currently working on the logistics and components involved in the delivery of the vaccines for the deadly COVID-19 to the people, an official said Thursday.
The government will be issuing a statement in the few weeks to come to give detailed information about when should the country expect COVID-19 vaccines, Kabelo Ebineng, the permanent secretary in Botswana’s Ministry of Health and Wellness, told Xinhua in a telephone interview.
“We therefore call for urgent solidarity to prioritize investment in affordable and safe COVID-19 vaccines and equitable allocation based on the principle of fairness for public health impact,” said Kwape.
African Union (AU) head, President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, last week announced that a provisional 270 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been secured by the continental body for distribution across the continent. Enditem.
