479 new cases were reported in 2014, while only 289 where recorded on the National Cancer Registry in 2010.
The rising trend could be attributed to the fact that education and campaigns have made more ladies aware of their health problems than in the past.
“This means that we have earlier detection and higher reported treatment cases,” CAN ‘s Christy Kavetuna explained.
Second on the list of the most popular cancers in Namibia is skin cancer, with 430 newly recorded cases in 2014, versus 472 in 2010.
These figures form part of the soon-to-be-published”Cancer incidences in Namibia” report that the association will publish towards the end of this year.
The document will contain data pertaining to comprehensively recorded cancer diagnosis in Namibia from 2010 to 2014. Enditem
