FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Monday increased by 1.47 percent, or 87.50 points, to 6,037.73 points.
Berkeley Group Holdings led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 4.85 percent, followed by Taylor Wimpey (4.74 percent), Barratt Developments (4.45 percent), Persimmon (4.32 percent) and Kingfisher (3.39 percent).
