British mining firm delists from Botswana bourse

Three months after announcing intentions to delist from Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE), London based mining outfit African Copper has received the green light.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the company said BSE has now granted the application to delist the company’s ordinary shares.

“Aug. 27, 2015 will be the last day for trading ordinary shares of the company listed on the BSE, with the BSE cancellation becoming effective on Aug. 28, 2015,” the company said in the statement.

In May, Africa Copper announced the company’s intention to seek shareholders’ approval for the cancellation of admission of its ordinary shares on BSE.

The company attributed the decision to size of the company and the lack of liquidity in the market. Enditem
