Borno Radio and Television Corporation BRTV has upgraded its Frequency Modulation Station FM to cover states and countries Borno state is sharing boundaries with.
The Sole Administrator/ General Manager of the BRTV said yesterday that the state government is currently installing 20 kilowatt (KW) FM transmitters which, when completed, will cover not only Borno state but all the neighbouring states and countries the state is sharing boundaries with in the few weeks .
The Sole Administrator of the Borno Radio and Television (BRTV) stations, Alhaji Baba-Kura Abba-Jato stated this in Maiduguri yesterday when the Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha visited the radio and television stations premises on an inspection tour of the Facilities and equipment at the installation site of the administration block of the BRTV .
Babakura who commended the present administration of Governor Kashim Shettima for giving the BRTV all the necessary support to restore services of the radio and television stations in the state, said the FM station which has been on test run transmission will soon start full transmission.
According to him, the FM signal if completely installed, it will cover not only Borno state but even other neighbouring states and countries Borno state shares boundaries with them like Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba states and Chad, Niger as well as Cameroon Republics.
Expressing satisfaction with the quality of work done so far , the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha said “despite the fact that the installation work is in progress, there is the need for speedy completion of the installation work to enable us also reach out to other neighbouring states and countries as part of our expansion program “
