The appointment came “less than two months after a jihadist attack killed thirty people in Ouagadougou, the capital city, ” a government report said.
On January 15, just days after new authorities took power in Burkina Faso, a luxury hotel and a restaurant in Ouagadougou were hit by heavy armed gunmen, leaving 30 people killed, 56 others wounded.
A democratic election which concluded in November 2015 had ended the one-year transition in the country.
