Eight new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Burkina Faso, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 15, the Health Ministry announced in a statement Sunday night.

According to the statement, health authorities tested 14 suspected patients, in which eight were positive. The statement did not reveal more details about the new cases.

To address the spread of the disease, the authorities announced Saturday night the closure of schools and universities and the ban on gatherings of more than 50 people in the country. Enditem
