Komboigo had left Burkina Faso a few days before the failed coup that was led by former army chief under Blaise Compaore’s regime, Gilbert Diendere, but his name has appeared in the report on the coup attempt.

Several other CDP members, among them Leonce Kone, one of the party’s vice presidents, were arrested over the coup.

The attempted coup on Sept. 16, 2015 left at least 15 people dead.

Diendere and Djibrill Bassole, a former foreign minister under Compaore and about 40 soldiers are currently detained at the Ouagadougou prison for their involvement in the failed coup. Enditem
