Burundian police said 13 persons were intercepted on Wednesday in Muramvya province, in northern Burundi.

Police Spokesman Pierre Nkurikiye said one man and 12 girls were intercepted Wednesday morning on board two minibuses, which were heading for Kampala, the capital of Uganda, but their their final destination was Oman.

“All those 13 people were returned to the judiciary police at Jab in Burundian capital Bujumbura for further investigations and investigators have already identified the trafficker of those victims,” Nkurikiye said.

In August, 24 women, including 18 victims of human trafficking and six suspected traffickers, were intercepted in Kayanza town. Their destination was also Oman. Enditem
