Burundi’s newspaper Le Renouveau has praised cooperation in different sectors between China and Burundi in its editorial.
“China and Burundi have always kept excellent cooperation, not only in the political aspect, but also in the sectors of economy, culture and education,” said the Monday editorial. This increasing cooperation gives pride to the Chinese and Burundian peoples and is highly encouraging, it said.
“The fact that our two nations, one in Asia and the other in Africa, are separated by oceans and continents did not prevent our relations to rapidly develop by targeting various sectors,” it said.
The newspaper further said it is a pleasure for Burundian people to notice that the Sino-Burundian cooperation is highly successful.
Peoples of Burundi and China often stand in solidarity against interferences in other countries’ internal affairs, according to the newspaper.
Convinced that they will behave like faithful friends to respect each other’s sovereignty and that of other states and to abstain from interfering in the internal policy of other states, the two governments have “repeatedly committed to strengthen Sino-Burundian friendship, and stable, equal and reciprocal relations”, it said.
Sino-Burundian relations provides vast and interesting perspectives of cooperation between China and Burundi, read the editorial.
China and Burundi established diplomatic relations on Dec. 21, 1963.
