Three people were killed and 50 others injured early Saturday when the driver of a passenger bus lost control in central Nigeria, police said.

One child was among the injured in the accident that occurred on the Auchi-Okene road in Nigeria’s central Kogi state.

There were 82 passengers aboard the intercity luxury bus.

Bisi Kazeem, spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corps, told Xinhua the accident was caused by brake failure.
