Business Confidence In Ghana Sinks

The fourth quarter Business Barometer report released by the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has rather painted a gloomy picture of how investors see Ghana.

In that report, it was stated that Business confidence in Ghana dropped in the last quarter of 2015.

The Business Barometer, which looked at current business mood and expectations for the future said business confidence among corporate leaders plunged by 4.17 basis points, from 97.29 points in Q3 to 93.12 points in Q4.

Is also said, employment Confidence level in employment saw a nosedive as close to 50% of industry captains interviewed said the employment situation will see little change, expressing pessimism of expanding their workforce.

Also, 49% said they will not employ, while 34% said they will increase their labour force, while about 17% said they will cut down on labour considering the challenges they face.

The report also noted that 35% of Captains of industry interviewed believed the business environment will remain the same while 24% maintained it has improved.
