The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) is contemplating over the introduction of a Women’s Champions League.
The continent’s football governing body will hold an Executive Committee meeting via a video conference call on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
High on the agenda will be a discussion on the possible introduction of a Women’s Champions League.
CAF believes with the fast-growing of women’s football on the continent, it is about time an inter-club competition is organized for the women as well.
Though no firm decision is likely to be taking at the meeting next season, several inputs are expected to be gathered by the body.
After that, additional engagements will happen to determine whether the idea of playing a Women’s Champions League is feasible or not.
There is no doubt implementation will come at a cost, but a section of CAF’s Executive Committee is believed to be supportive of the idea and wants to see the women’s inter-club competition being introduced very soon.
