Patrice Motsepe, the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), praised the exemplary infrastructure in Cote d’Ivoire, developed in anticipation of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
“We are reassured to have world-class infrastructure,” said the CAF chief, who expressed his gratitude to Ivorian authorities for their commitment to these projects and for the quality of the tournament, and also underlined local people’s passion for football.
“I traveled the country and saw thousands of people, ordinary people dancing for their nation’s performance. Football is a force for good. We are very committed to using football to unite the world,” he commented.
Cote d’Ivoire is hosting the 34th edition of the AFCON. The country has built several infrastructures including bridges, bypass roads, as well as hotels and stadiums.
