The Confederation of African Football (CAF) rescheduled Ghana’s Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC champions’ league game against Mauritanian side FC Nouadhibou to Sunday.

A statement released by the continental soccer governing body late Saturday said, “Following the events that took place before the kick-off of the match today (Saturday) which resulted in the evacuation of the stadium and the match not being played, kindly note that the match is rescheduled to be played on December 6, at 15.00 GMT in Accra sports stadium.”

CAF further requested both teams to redo their PCR tests at any government-approved laboratory in Accra under the supervision of an appointed CAF medical officer.

CAF, however, assured that the results of the new tests for both teams will be binding and the match will not be further postponed after that.

The CAF champions’ league second leg tie involving Kotoko and Nouadhibou was called off at the last minute when two players of the visiting team were reported to have tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday. Enditem
