While in Africa, the Minister will visit development projects funded by Canada and implemented in the field by local and Canadian partners. These projects help strengthen the empowerment of women, give young people access to quality education and assist farmers in coping with threats to food security posed by climate change.

This will be Minister Bibeau’s first official trip to Africa.

“Canada plans to assist Africa in facing the serious challenges associated with population explosion, climate change and security. This mission will include discussions on the importance of strengthening women’s empowerment, as well as on education, health, agriculture and jobs.”
