Monies that will be spent by the over 40,000 members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) who will be in the Central regional capital, Cape Coast, for the party’s campaign launch ahead of this year’s elections, will go a long way to support the economy of the city and the region as a whole, Cassiel Ato Forson, a Deputy Minister of Finance, has said.
Scores of NDC sympathisers and supporters are thronging the region purposely to take part in the campaign launch. ClassFMonline.com has gathered that almost all hotels and guest houses in Cape Coast and surrounding areas have been booked, leaving other travellers stranded.
NDC paraphernalia are on sale in the area and also at the newly-built Cape Coast Stadium, venue of the event.
Mr Ato Forson told reporters on Saturday August 13, a day before the event, in Cape Coast that money spent “will support the economy of Cape Coast”, hence the momentum with which businesses were springing up ahead of the event was in order.
